About New Year On The Waterfront

New Year on the Waterfront is not only Geelong ’s largest entertainment event but it’s the best New Years party you’ll find! Heading into its fifth successful year, the event attracts 5,000 people from Victoria and beyond to Geelong ’s unique and picturesque Waterfront. The event has hosted some of Australia ’s most renowned world-class entertainers with previous acts including Thirsty Merc, Evermore, Something for Kate, Alex Lloyd and DJ Goodwill from Ministry of Sound.

This New Years we are taking the event to another level and are excited to announce that The Living End will be headlining New Year on the Waterfront 2008. Touted as one of the best live bands in Australia , The Living End will rock in the New Year like you’ve never seen before. Also including cocktail finger food, champagne, beer, wine, spirits, a massive fireworks display and complimentary/priority entry into selected local nightclubs after the event, New Year on the Waterfront is a must-attend event for anyone that wants to bring in the New Year in style.”

 

 

Dress Code

New Year on the Waterfront is your opportunity to glam up and welcome in the New Year in style! A strict dress code will be enforced including:

No thongs
No t-shirts

Before Party

Meet your friends and gear up for the party ahead at The New Year on the Waterfront ‘before’ party. The ’before’ party will be held at Lambys Tavern, Cnr Moorabool and Brougham Sts, Geelong – just one block up from the Waterfront.

Complimentary entry into Lambys Tavern for all New Year on the Waterfront ticket holders.

Present your ticket at the ‘before’ party and receive a complimentary beer, wine or champagne on arrival.

Test Pilot Molly are a four piece rock cover band located in Geelong, Victoria, who in their short existence have catapulted themselves into the Pubs and Clubs music scene around Victoria securing themselves resident gigs at premium venues around Geelong, the Surf Coast and country Victoria. This includes a Friday night residency of four years, and still going, at Geelong’s most prestigious band venue Lambys Tavern.

Formed from the ashes of popular Geelong cover band Flat Top Grandy, TPM comprises of Matty with the voice, Tom on Bass, Salta on Guitar and Paul with the sticks. This line up of four unparalleled musicians, have a knack of entertaining and winning over their audience by playing live shows that are full of energy and punter interaction. Test Pilot Molly’s extensive catalogue of today’s biggest hits and a range of classics from the 80s 90s, ensures that the guys have the ability and song list to suit and entertain any type of audience that is thrown their way on the night.

Test Pilot Molly’s energetic stage show and ability to jump around like fools whilst retaining a certain degree of professionalism (and still sounding great) has earned them huge amounts of respect within the industry and a massive local fan base.

PASSIONFRUIT PULP is a five piece cover band from Melbourne. They have been performing together since 1996, and have become one of Melbourne's most successful bands. PFP (As they are affectionately called) combine stellar musicianship, quirky humour, dedication to showmanship, and one of the biggest productions in the country to consistently leave their audiences breathless, and screaming for more.

Musically the PFP set list typically contains every conceivable musical taste, from Tom Jones and Abba, right through to Metallica and Tool. Along with this diversity of genre, every decade since the sixties has been catered for. This makes PFP the perfect act for any setting, and any event. Paraded around Melbourne as "The Ultimate Party Band", PFP live up to the name with many achievements in the past seven years, including the longest residency in Geelong's history!!!..a eight year(and going strong) stint at the famous "Lambys" on a Sunday night! PFP were also the last band ever to play at the Famous Hallam Hotel.
